Privacy policy
Last updated
Furward is software for pet grooming shops in the Philippines. This page explains what personal information we handle, why, who else processes it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
Who we are and how to reach us
Furward is run from Imus, Cavite, Philippines. For any privacy question or request, email shimlett.mark.bay@gmail.com. We reply within a few working days.
Two kinds of information
Information a shop keeps in Furward (its clients, their pets, appointments, visits and boarding stays) belongs to that shop. The shop decides what to record and is the personal information controller. Furward is the shop’s personal information processor: we store and process it only to run the service for that shop. If you are a pet owner and want to see, correct or remove your details, ask your grooming shop first; you can also email us and we will pass the request on.
Information about shops and their staff (trial sign-ups, access requests, staff accounts) is controlled by Furward.
What we collect
When a shop owner starts a free trial:
- Shop name and your name
- Email address and password (stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider)
- The package you chose and when your trial ends
When a shop owner pays:
- The package, monthly or yearly, and the amount
- The GCash reference number from your receipt
- A screenshot of the receipt, if you choose to send one (stored privately; only Furward staff can see it)
- When we confirmed or rejected the payment, and why
Shops that asked for access through our earlier Request access form also gave us their mobile number and city, if they chose to, and any message they wrote.
For each staff account a shop owner creates:
- Full name, email address and role (owner, groomer or receptionist)
- Password, stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider
- When the account last signed in
What shop staff record about their clients and pets:
- Client name, mobile number, Viber ID and notes
- Pet name, breed, size, coat, date of birth, behaviour notes, vaccine expiry date and photo
- Appointments, visits (date, service, groomer, recorded price, notes) and boarding stays
- A record of reminder text messages sent to clients
Our hosting providers also keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To create your shop when you start a trial, and to reply to access requests
- To let staff sign in and use Furward, and to reset forgotten passwords
- To show each shop its own pets, schedule, reminders, boarding and reports
- To send appointment and re-booking text messages for shops that switch on automatic SMS reminders
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and understand which parts of our public website are used
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Services that process data for us
- Supabase: database, sign-in and photo storage.
- Vercel: hosting of the website and app, and privacy-friendly visit statistics for our public pages (Vercel Web Analytics).
- Resend: sends our emails to shop owners and staff (sign-up confirmation, password reset, payment and trial notices). It receives the email address and the message.
- Semaphore: sends text messages, only for shops that switch on automatic SMS reminders. It receives the client’s mobile number and the message.
These providers may store or process data outside the Philippines. We share information with anyone else only when the law requires it. Reminders a shop sends by hand open the staff member’s own messaging app, so those messages go through the shop’s phone, not through Furward.
Cookies and statistics
Furward uses sign-in cookies so staff stay signed in, and remembers each staff member’s light or dark theme choice in their browser. Our public pages count visits and button clicks with Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
How we protect it
- All connections are encrypted (HTTPS).
- Each shop’s records are separated at the database level, so staff of one shop cannot see another shop’s data.
- Staff only see what their role allows; shop setup and staff management are limited to owners.
- Pet photos and shop logos are stored at long, hard-to-guess web addresses. Anyone who has the exact address of an image can open it, so avoid photos that show people or private information.
How long we keep it
- Access requests: while we are in touch about setting up your shop. Ask us and we will delete yours.
- Shop records: while the shop uses Furward. Archived clients and pets, and staff who leave, are kept (hidden) so the shop’s history stays complete.
- If a shop stops using Furward, its access is switched off and its data is kept until the shop asks us to delete it or to send it a copy.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to:
- Be told how your personal information is processed
- See the personal information we hold about you
- Have wrong or incomplete information corrected
- Object to processing, and have your information removed or blocked
- Get a copy of your information in a common electronic format
- Claim damages, and complain to the National Privacy Commission
To use any of these rights, email shimlett.mark.bay@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the National Privacy Commission.
Children
Furward is a tool for businesses. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page and tell shop owners about important changes. See also our terms of use.
